Review:

I almost never write a bad review because who am I, right? I am making an exception for this book.

Probably the worst written book I ever read to the end. Or at least the worst edited one.

The whole "present-day" plot just ... stops.

The final battle is described in a completely incoherent way, with Batu Khan both being in a square inside Poznan and in a ridge outside the city at the same time. In fact the marines start attacking his position inside the city and then there is a POV change and he is not in the city at all. Maybe the author forgot to remove a chapter with a plot he discarded?

The marine planning sessions are hilariously stupid. The cardboard characters (whose names sometimes change for no reason) just say the same things over and over while trying and failing to sound badass.

If this review makes you want to read the book to see if it is really that bad, please don't.

Another reviewer suggested this may be ChatGPT-written. If that is the case, I hope the "author" starts paying for the premium models.
