In the "he grimly drank his coffee"--not an actual quote-- school of scifi (which is not a good thing). It is obviously written just for shock value.

A long-delayed sequel, not by the original author, written by a three-headed writer. It's amazing, but it doesn't suck!

Noirish scifi is a weakness of myne. This fits pretty well with that description, and I enjoyed it very much.
